The differences are marked - and then perhaps not so marked after all. I liked that comparison very much.
ReplyDeleteIt's so exiting to discover the differences between now and then in Glasgow.
ReplyDeleteNice post. Way to go !!!
These are really nice photos Gerald. Times changes everything I guess.
ReplyDeleteI only got one Grumpy Alien posted for "G." He is at Thunder Maker
What a great idea to compare photos from different periods. It's interesting to see the changes.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT was a fun post! Great idea. I enjoyed it very much!
ReplyDeleteThe last time we were in Scotland we drove around Glasgow but didn't stop. Next time we'll need to check it out closer...

Love these comparison pics! They show how beauty sometimes is a time and place phenomena, then moves on! Fascinating!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you showed the "then" and "now," Gerald. Well done!
ReplyDeleteNow that's how it should be done. Working together. Interesting concept. Not a city I am familiar with but Jackie has really opened my eyes to the city and to copmare it to the older version is even better. Congrats to you both on this duel post.
ReplyDeleteNice comparisons. I like the way you composed them.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this. I enlarged the photos and studied the differences carefully. There have been some changes over the years. Nicely done! :D

ReplyDeleteKisses from Nydia.
How interesting to contrast these this way. I enjoyed viewing this. BTW Ackworth, I don't have music on my blog this week, so I hope you stop by! I miss you!
ReplyDeleteGood to see how our architecture survives. But look how the roofs of the Botanic Gardens have changed - in this instance for the better, I think.
ReplyDeleteThanks for these.
What a beautiful city. All the pics old and new are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI went to a wedding in Glasgow some years ago. The reception was held in the Merchants Hall (I think that was the name). It was certainly an imposing building.
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos!!! Looks like a wonderful place to visit!!
ReplyDeleteMy father-in-law was born in old Glasgow--much older Glasgow as he would be 117 at his next birthday. Then and now photos are exciting. I have some of my Dad's 1920s pictures, and sometimes try to find the same places now.
