Wednesday Night Moon

This was taken on Wednesday evening about the same time as seven miles away in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester, thousands of football fans were causing a disturbance over the loss of the giant screen there.

I took this picture of the moon rising above the trees. I took a second picture using my 18x zoom to focus on the moon itself rather than the trees and have placed it as an inset. Do click on the picture above to see it at its best.

  1. Better seeing this than the fans doing the mess ... and it wasn´t even a game worth seeing!

  2. I do like to watch the soccer games on cable but I don't like to see the fans get into trouble and fighting and things like that.

I like your sky photograph, Gerald, and the inset is nice too.

  14. Love the photo, but gotta disagree with Quint on this one....I would have loved to seen photos of the fans making a mess....that would be a unique skywatch photo! Ha!

  15. A very appropriate combination of words and picture - If more people could enjoy the moon instead of banging each others heads, we would all have a better world.

I agree with Q that it's far better to watch the moon than to photograph disagreeable fans!
