Sky Watch Friday: Mossley

Last week, my contribution to Skywatch Friday was a photograph of the chimney at Tameside Hospital.

After my appointment, I took the bus up the road to Top Mossley. This is the view across the burial ground of St George's church. The peak in the distance is known as Alphin Pike.

The snow and ice melted the next day and we had several days of fog. Now although it is milder, the winds have picked up and instead of snow we have had rain and hardly any blue skies since I took this photograph.

There will be more winter weather to endure before spring comes, but at least we don't seem to get the extremes that other places have to cope with.

  1. Yep, more winter for sure! So enjoy the milder temperatures. ;-)

I like this blue sky with just wisps of clouds over the burial ground. Nice photo.

  7. Very pretty soft sky, though it belies the winter chill. And you're fortunate that it won't get too extreme!

We have had a couple of days with some cold weather here in the Western part of Norway now. This evening is mild and windy, so here we go again.... ;)
There are not so many days with snow here....
I really like the winter. Proper winter, so I must live in the wrong place... ;)

  12. We've had no snow at all here in Finland. Just rain and wind. The world has gone topsy turvy. Anyway lovely shot. Such peaceful place. Love the nearly snow clad peak at the distance.
