Port Street Mural

(Click on image to view full-size version)

En route to find last week's street art in Stevenson Square I came across this mural on the rear of the Hatter's Hotel on Port Street.

It was completed in November 2011. See David Seale's photograph on Geograph showing the artists putting the finishing touches to the work.

Chrissy Brand posted her own photo of the artwork on Mancunian Wave in April.

  4. I was thinking it looked familiar - saw it on Crissy's blog. Nice to see a different perspective of it.

  6. Isn't it interesting how backs of buildings, previously ignored, have now become canvases for murals. This is spectacular. The size adds to my sense of awe. Thank you for participating in this week's Monday Mural.

  7. I like that they brought flower and bird motifs to such an urban setting.

  8. That is one of my favorite murals of all time -- I love the bird -- and the fact that the whole mural brings a touch of nature to the alleyway. Very nicely done.
