Monday Murals:
Map of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway

A tiled mural map of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway at Victoria Station, Manchester probably dating from 1904. Below it is a bronze war memorial which was unveiled in 1922.

  1. Nice map. I am wondering how may of these lines still exist.

  2. I'm sure it is much more complicate now! Sometimes I think it would be nice to go back and visit simpler times. But, they had their own issues as well I suppose.

  3. A very unusual way to demonstrate a rail route.

  4. This is huge! Shows us how proud they were back then about their rail system. I too wonder how many lines continue to exist. I'm a big admirer of what the Victorians wrought. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
