Shadows Across My Path
I wasn't going to post a Shadow Shot this week. At around 8.30am on Saturday I expected to be on my way to Manchester airport to catch a flight to Jersey.
Instead I was walking along this section of the Trans Pennine Trail off to the shops to get some food in for the week.
You can see the full colour version of this on Geograph.

your flight but we win with this shot. Fabulous.
ReplyDeletelovely shot - it still looks so wintry!! hope you get to Jersey very soon!!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous photo - it's still wintry-looking up here too, though I finally noticed my first blossom this week and some of the trees are finally starting to bud again.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your holiday woes - I hope you manage to rearrange the trip soon. We were in Guernsey the other week, it was lovely - so different from Glasgow!
What a wonderful, wintry shadow shot, Gerald! I do hope you get to Jersey very soon, too!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
The trees leave nice shadows, falling across your path. Delicate they are without leaves, so a mix of sun and shadow is truly beautiful!
ReplyDeletelovely photo!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear it's not a full color shot, I'd be pining for some greens...beautiful path though.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see that snow started to thaw away.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful.
Happy SS, Mr!
I guess, I msd my comment. Did I?
ReplyDeleteI would like to walk there, it looks so peaceful!
ReplyDeleteI know many people that were scheduled for a flight, but had to stay at home because of the on going volcanic eruption in Iceland. Have a nice weekend!
so tranquil, lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry sorry to hear of your flight woes - it has even affected travellers way over here in Australia. Let's hope the skies clear soon. In the meantime, you have taken this beautiful shot, so it's a winner for us!
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, I heard about the flight cancellations; volcanoes do have a way of changing routines! I like this shot, but I like the color version better. I think it directs the eye more to that fascinating arch in the distance...
ReplyDeleteA lovely photo. I'm sorry about the delay with your flight plans but I'm glad you could at least join in SSS. All was not lost ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm sad to hear that your trip had to be cancelled, but I hope that you will be able to go later on.
ReplyDeleteAt least you got us a nice photo to show us!
Oh no! At least you got a good walk and a lovely shot.
ReplyDeleteThat bridge is a dead give-away for the old railway line.
ReplyDeleteI have to disagree with Dimple, this shot attracted my eye to the bridge much more than the colour one.
Sorry about your flight - we're due to fly next Monday so we've still got some hope!
