ABC Wednesday - P is for Precipitation

As a child I remember listening to the shipping forecast and being mesmerised by that phrase
"precipitation in sight".
Well last week it wasn't just in sight, it was P!**ing down.

Later however it cleared and we saw a natural Prism.

  1. We're expecting precipitations for tomorrow but I wouldn't wonder if they came today. Call it a premonition if you want to, or say it's just previsible when the sky is so dark.

  2. Oh hpy is Precisely pertinent with his comments! LOL! Yes, we do see the odd spot of rain don't we. Right now, it is very windy, so I am quite content to sut and look at the ABC Wednesday contributions.....then I will press on with paper work.......in a little while.....not just yet! LOL!

  4. It was raining at work the other day and I was thinking about trying to get a 'P' picture I said, "this persistent precipitation is problematic and pernicious". It was the best I could come with at the time.

  5. Primarily I love precipitation, esp now when we could use a pleasurable pour of precipitation.
We are using some profanity due to the lack of passable precip. Pretty pic!

  6. Ah, so its raining all over the world. We're expecting another flooding and this reminds me of what it was like as the waters receded in July.
    Well shoot.

  8. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gerald!! x

Well I certainly have learned something today. I was brought up on the edge of the North Sea and the weather forecast was forever intermittently on in the background but I never took notice, hence the reason I had to look up your word in the dictionary! Highly unusual 'P' - but perfect.

  9. Where did you get the idea it was my birthday? It isn't.

It is persisting it down today again [that's a poetic word!]

  11. Wow, I love the motion in this shot. Almost as if the camera is just part of it's surroundings.

    Well done.

  16. There was precipitation here last week, which is very unusual for this time of the year! The weather has changed a lot in the last couple of years.

Thanks for letting me know about the song (hole in the ground). I did not know about it. I will check it out.

  18. You captured something that is difficult to catch in photos. I don't look forward to the upcoming winter precipitation.

  19. I know that feeling, although we are *technically* in drought... a couple of nights ago we had thunderstorms and hail too.

Lol a great one for 'P'... I would have never thunk of precipitation.

  21. They don't say that anymore in California. Now its, "The storm door is open...." It makes you wonder what else might come bounding through..

  23. There's a lot of precipitation going on here today. I like your photo, it's a bit abstract.

  24. In sight? Whose sight? It's fun to think about linguistic absurdities. Those things we say every day and don't analyze...no doubt a good thing that we don't. You have lots of great posts; especially enjoyed the bird photos.
