ABC Wednesday - E is for ...

It wasn't as Easy as I had Estimated Evaluating the Enigma of the Essential Example for today's Essay. Two Early Earmarked ideas Evaporated into the Ether. I Envisaged Embarking on an Epic Expedition to the Ends of the Earth or Even an Excursion to Eccles. Eventually Exhausted, having Employed Elaborate Efforts, I Established that an Excellent Elegant Expression Existed Evidently in my Eyes.

E is for England, not the country nor the football team but Exactly Elderly me.

The top photograph must be at least fifty years old. I'm the "baby" of the family; next to me is my brother Eric, who is five years my elder; behind me is Miss England, my sister Jean, ten years my senior and last, fifteen years older than I, my brother Ken.

The bottom photograph shows Christmas dinner one year a long time ago. My father is carving the turkey. My mother is on the right; that's me with knife and fork at the ready and on the left is Ken's wife, my sister-in-law Daisy. Those four third-pint bottles on the table contain orange-juice as delivered by the milk-man!

  1. This is EXCELLENT for our "E" Day. You are such a cutie in the pictures, typical little kid waiting EAGERLY for his turkey dinner. Love it! :D MIne's up now!

  2. In your case - what else could it be? A double (or triple at least) bottom if ever I saw one in a post.

I like the posts that make such connections with "real life".

  13. Excellent et émouvant!
In French, "E" is the most used letter, so G.Perec and other authors * wrote texts , novels without any "E"!

  15. Lots of E's in your ESSAY! That one photo also had three E's in it! I guess you could have made it 4 by calling your sister without an E name, "elderly" in your mind back then???????
