Bridge at Qaqortoq

Greenland's icy waters flow under this bridge at Qaqortoq. Buttercups grow in profusion on the riverbank.

This is the view below the bridge.

Read my earlier post Q is for Qaqortoq or an account of my visit on 2005 Cruise Journal.

My entire collection of 27 photos can be viewed at Qaqortoq 2005

A full list of participants to Broer som Binder can be found on Runes TX-blog.

  2. I thank you for this one. I have never been to Greenland and the picture of your bridge and the information and pictures on the links somehow emphasized this to me. The link (or bridge if you want to put it like that) that once existed between Norway and Greenland were broken around 1400 (for various reasons) and it is part of our history.

  3. Your post on November 17 last year was on my 60 years birthday. A nice small bridge symbolizing the huge gap between the inuits culture and ours.
    Have a great week.
