West Window

West Window
the whole spectrum

text & photograph © 2008, gerald england

posted in response to the "colors" prompt at One Single Impression.

The photograph was taken on a recent visit to Leeds Parish Church. We can well recommend lunch in their coffee shop. Note that wheelchair access is via the west side.

  3. I like the idea of "all" filtering in here. Reminds me that color relies on light.

The window is symbolic with your words. Beautiful shot and perspective! Thanks for sharing.

  4. Oh I would love to see that in full sun. The whole meeting house must be awash in color. Your poem is very descriptive.

thank you for your help with my poem. Of course, I have to look up "haiga". I purposefully put the last line last because of an ancient Japanese haiku I read this week which caused me to go "aahhhh, details first, overview last!"

But like I say, I have a lot to learn. I have to read that book I bought! Thank you again.

  11. What I know about Haiku wouldn't fill one dot of a thimble, but I do know I really enjoyed your photo and Haiku!

  12. A light tapestry!
The haiku reminded me of the light being split by a prism.
