I posted a Sunday Puzzle on Hyde Daily Photo.
This is the picture from which I cropped just the tail of a squirrel as it dived off the fence. Here you can also see one of its back claws.
A few moments earlier it had its back towards me. A larger version of this picture is on my photoblog Sithenah
It turned round to face me. Again a larger version of this picture is on my photoblog Sithenah
It then dived off the fence, which is when I captured its tail.
This picture was taken a few days later. It comes down from the trees and hangs from my neighbour's trellis helping itself to the contents of his bird feeders.
Yesterday morning there was one squirrel at the bird feeder and three more cavorting around next-door's back garden. Meanwile from different parts of the fence, a white cat and a blackbird looked on.
A squirrel? A SQUIRREL?
ReplyDeleteWell, you had me fooled...Well done!
Great S post. That is one huge squirrel with a big bushy tail. Good shots.
ReplyDeleteIt does look big. I wonder if it's as big as it looks. Cute rascal!
ReplyDeleteI went through your ABC Wednesday photos - arghhhh!!
ReplyDeleteI love the first one. Escape at its best.
ReplyDeleteYou must have been very fast and quiet to capture these nimble little critters. We have tons of these in our neighborhood eating nuts off of trees.
ReplyDeleteSquirrels are lovely little animals but this one looks rather grey to me. I'm used to seeing reddish ones. BEautiful pictures though.
ReplyDeleteIt's a rat with a tail! But despite this I still love squirrels. Great photos.
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of squirrels on our land. They drive our dog crazy. This is a great picture of the squirrel.
ReplyDeleteGood photos! It's hard for me to try photographing animals, especially small, nimble ones!
ReplyDeleteWith a large population of squirrels at work they really pull some funny antics. It is a constant battle, dog vs. squirrel.
ReplyDeleteWonder what Wilma would make of the squirrel?
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, love the tail!
Those little guys make me angry. Always burying their nuts in my grass!

How cute and the tail picture is awesome!
ReplyDeleteA cosy fellow - good work! Wish I could do such things :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a big day in the squirrel world. Amazing that we took almost identical shots of squirrel at rest atop fence (though I did not post that one). It's true...great minds think alike! Glad you stopped by!
ReplyDeleteCheers.
Thank you for comments on both posts! The last one got through on the first attempt - congratulations! Now, I'll have to write kdenlwm. Let's see if it works,

ReplyDeleteI love the action shot with his tail. The squirrels are very cute and it's unusual to be able to get so close to them. Great shots!

ReplyDeleteAw, cute, Sammy Squirrel! I would never have guessed your puzzle pic to be a squirrel tail. Thus, my outlandish story.
ReplyDeleteHe's a cute littel devil, enjoyable to watch their antics.
Lots of cute squirrels about this year, they are very photogenic
ReplyDeleteSuperb quiz!
ReplyDeleteAren't they the most fun to watch? I do enjoy seeing them play in my garden all year round.
ReplyDeletewell done! i took a photo of a squirrel last summer and he leapt as I shot, so I figured I missed him, but when I looked at the photo it looked like two squirrels--one about to leap and one landing--with a dark swath of fur in between although he was a ight grey squirrel.
ReplyDeletei would never have guessed.
Your squares look so different than mine. Ours are quite brown and thinner.
ReplyDeletethanks! I look quite nice in these snaps!
ReplyDeleteI've seen a squirrel only several times in my life and only in a brief moment. It always climb up a tree so fast and hid itself somewhere in the treetop. This squirrel is so cute. The photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
Some really fun posts here like rollerskating in Russia! Fun squirrels--how do you know what letter you're on?
