ABC Wednesday - S is for Squirrel

I posted a Sunday Puzzle on Hyde Daily Photo.

This is the picture from which I cropped just the tail of a squirrel as it dived off the fence. Here you can also see one of its back claws.

A few moments earlier it had its back towards me. A larger version of this picture is on my photoblog Sithenah

It turned round to face me. Again a larger version of this picture is on my photoblog Sithenah

It then dived off the fence, which is when I captured its tail.

This picture was taken a few days later. It comes down from the trees and hangs from my neighbour's trellis helping itself to the contents of his bird feeders.

Yesterday morning there was one squirrel at the bird feeder and three more cavorting around next-door's back garden. Meanwile from different parts of the fence, a white cat and a blackbird looked on.

  6. You must have been very fast and quiet to capture these nimble little critters. We have tons of these in our neighborhood eating nuts off of trees.

  11. With a large population of squirrels at work they really pull some funny antics. It is a constant battle, dog vs. squirrel.

  24. well done! i took a photo of a squirrel last summer and he leapt as I shot, so I figured I missed him, but when I looked at the photo it looked like two squirrels--one about to leap and one landing--with a dark swath of fur in between although he was a ight grey squirrel.

    i would never have guessed.
