Shadow Sunday: Copenhagen

It has been a cold white Christmas so I've been digging in the archives for a shadow and discovered this from Copenhagen.

The shadow belongs to the Ice Bear Statue at Langelinje Pier. The monument was erected in 1937, and depicts an ice bear with its two cubs on an ice flake. It was a gift of the harbour authorities and symbolizes Greenland, Denmark's Northernmost part. The monument was made by Holger Wederkinck.

For more shadows visit Hey Harriet.

  1. Lovely shadow by the sea! I couldn't tell if it is a bear by the shadow, but that is where the shadowy fun begins - our imaginations are runnig wild with these shapes. A nice view of the dock. Happy New Year!

  3. Ooh, I like this one a lot! I think I can see one bear...

I'll have to google the full statue to see if I was really seeing what I was imagining.

Hey the word verification is pandis. Made me think of pandas, which is keeping in with the bear theme :)

  12. Was this the Little Mermaid monument in Köpenhavn?

Looks so warm that the shadow falls so dark on the cobble stones.

    Happy SSS---

No it was the Ice Bear statue as stated in the text - click on the link there to see it.

The Little Mermaid was nearby though.
