ABC Wednesday - J is for Jetty
This is the jetty on Ormes Bay Llandudno this July.
Out in the bay were people in jetboats.
Next to the jetty is a notice board and a large warning sign. Do take a closer look at it.
A monument and cairn testifies to a past tragedy (click on the picture to enlarge).
More J posts can be seen on the ABC Wednesday Anthology blog.
Others can be found via the ABC Wednesday with Mister Linky which carries a registry of participants.

tragedies such as this one can mar one's holiday when reading about them.
ReplyDeletethe stone collection at the base is really quite pretty
Very touching. Beautiful pictures but yet so sad.
ReplyDeleteNice post and a sobering one, two!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Klaus
Very fitting - for once I am glad that I suffer from sea-sickness...
ReplyDeleteGreat post.
ReplyDeletePsst, I must thank you for giving me an idea for J(et boats). I had a hard time finding something.
Nice pictures, shame about the tragedy,
ReplyDeleteRay
Great shots of the jetty and jet boats. How sobering the memorial is and so many young lives lost that day...
ReplyDeleteLlandudno sounds Welsh! Great photos and a good choice for J. What a terrible accident that cost the lives of these young people. Something you'll never forget.
ReplyDeleteSadness tonight Gerald...
ReplyDeletenice post for "J". the water looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteOh I was SO excited when I read that this is in Llandudno - where my Nana Jones was born and raised before she married a Liverpudlian and came to Canada. This is definitely one place that my friend and I are planning to visit (hopefully next summer) when we take our vacation next year. :D
ReplyDeleteOh, how sad. What a lovely spot and yet how sad.
ReplyDeleteGreat choice for J. Tragic accident and all so young...
ReplyDeleteVery sad. Very nice post for the letter J! Hope your Wednesday is blessing filled : )!
ReplyDeleteLovely post for the letter J.
ReplyDeleteHow tragic--they were so young.
Bear((( )))
Riding in a jet boat would be fun; but as with some other sporting activities sometimes things go wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe photos are great the loss so sad
ReplyDeleteI would love to be water skiing behind that jetboat!
ReplyDeleteFirst congratulation with the Hit.
ReplyDeleteBingo.
second. Never been to north Wales, but my daughter lives in the south so you never know.
Mostly I was fascinated by the Icebergs in the previous post. Never seen real Sea Icebergs in my life.
Great.
I saw a jet boat the other day, down at Skinningrove. It made me realise that I probably wouldn't enjoy it now, yet as a child I loved a speed boat ride in Scarborough. Not a care in the world...what is it that happens to us??
ReplyDeleteI thought also to put a picture of a jetty for "J"...but mine was just a jetty, yours is more significant. And sad.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough we had no jetties on the island, only quays or slips. Too many jet skis in the bay though.
ReplyDeleteWonderful Photos! Tragic that all those young people lost their lives. The memorial is very nice. Take Care!!
ReplyDeleteSherrie
